Cookie Policy

How BroadbandFind uses cookies and similar technologies

Last updated: July 2026

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. "Similar technologies" include browser storage (such as `localStorage`), which lets a site remember information between visits without setting a traditional cookie.

We use both to keep the site working, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and where you interact with a deal link to support affiliate tracking. This policy explains what we use and how you can control it. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

Types of Cookies and Storage We Use

Strictly necessary: Required for the site to function (for example, basic session handling and security). These do not require your consent and cannot be switched off.

Functional / preference

We remember the postcode you last entered so you don't have to type it again across our tools (coverage checker, speed test, savings checker). This is stored in your browser's local storage on your own device it is not shared with us automatically and is only sent to us when you actively run a tool.

Analytics

We use a privacy-first analytics tool to understand how visitors use the site (such as which pages are popular). It is configured to be cookieless and does not track you across other websites or build a personal profile.

Affiliate tracking

When you click a deal link, you may be redirected via an affiliate network which sets a cookie on your device. This records whether a qualifying purchase is made, so we can receive a commission from the provider. This cookie is set by the affiliate network, is subject to their own privacy and cookie policies, and using it never changes the price you pay.

Consent

On your first visit we display a cookie banner. Strictly necessary cookies are always active. Non-essential cookies and technologies (such as affiliate tracking) are used in accordance with your choices and UK PECR (Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) requirements. You can change your preferences at any time via the cookie settings link on the site.

Managing Cookies

  1. Browser settings: you can block or delete cookies through your browser's settings. Refusing affiliate cookies will not stop you using the site, but we may not receive commission for deals you access.
  2. Clearing remembered data: clearing your browser's site data will remove the remembered postcode stored on your device.
  3. Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: our privacy-first analytics does not track you across sites regardless of these signals.
  4. Guidance on managing cookies in common browsers is available at aboutcookies.org or allaboutcookies.org.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.
