Could you get faster broadband than Plusnet?

Speeds depend on your street, not just your provider. Enter your postcode to see every provider and speed available at your address.

What speed should I get with Plusnet?

Plusnet sells broadband over the Openreach network: part-fibre (FTTC) packages around the 66 Mbps mark, and full fibre from roughly 74 Mbps up to 900 Mbps where FTTP has reached your street. Your speed depends far more on which of those technologies serves your address than on Plusnet itself. Ofcom found little difference between providers selling the same Openreach products.

Why is my Plusnet broadband slow?

The usual culprits are testing over Wi-Fi far from the router, an older router on a newer line, peak-time congestion on part-fibre (FTTC) connections, or being on a legacy package when full fibre is now available at your address. Test with a wired connection or standing next to the router before blaming the line.

What is a good speed for Plusnet full fibre?

Plusnet full fibre packages are sold with average speeds of roughly 74, 145, 300, 500 or 900 Mbps. If your wired test result is well below the average speed on your contract, contact Plusnet. Under Ofcom’s speed code of practice you may have the right to exit penalty-free if it can’t be fixed.

Is my Plusnet deal out of contract?

If your Plusnet contract has ended, you are likely paying more than new customers for the same speed. Compare deals available at your postcode, switching is usually seamless under One Touch Switch, with no need to contact Plusnet yourself.
